It promises raise local incomes while taking pressure off stocks, without the risks associated with introducing exotic into an area concern. We consider case freshwater crayfish Madagascar, a proposed target for aquaculture. suggest three questions which should be considered by programme considering investment such project: 1) are available likely biologically suitable aquaculture? 2) is aquaculture profitable relative other land uses? 3) would successful reduce wild harvesting?
