摘要: Information Retrieval (IR) is a research area both within Computer Science and Science. It has by large two communities: oriented experimental approach user-oriented with Social background. The communities hold critical stance towards each other (e.g., Ingwersen, 1996), the latter suspecting realism of former, former usefulness latter. Within study information seeking (IS) also There lot in these particular areas retrieval (IS&R). However, three do not really communicate other. Why this, could relationships be otherwise? Do fact belong together? Or perhaps community better off forgetting about existence two? We feel that between have been properly analyzed. One way to analyze examine what trying find out: which phenomena are being explained how. believe IS&R would benefit from analytic its frameworks, models theories, just at level meta-theories, but much more concretely designs. Over years there calls for context IS&R. Work tasks as well cultural activities/interests proposed proper access. For example, Wersig (1973) conceptualized needs perspective. He argued order learn seeking, one take into account whole active professional role individuals investigated. Bystrom Jarvelin (1995) analysed IS processes light varying complexity. Ingwersen (1996) discussed their descriptions problematic situations cognitive perspective on IR. Most recently, Vakkari (2003) reviewed task-based IR (2004) extension toward task context. Therefore support context, how should it applied IS&R? Aims Focus. present chapter therefore focuses following questions:
