摘要: Perennial grasses, such as switchgrass (Panicum viragatum) and Miscanthus (Miscanthus × giganteus), are potential choices for biomass feedstocks with low-input high dry matter yield per hectare in the USA Europe. However, biophysical to grow bioenergy grasses varies time space due changes environmental conditions. Here, we integrate dynamic crop growth processes two different cultivars of switchgrass, Cave-in-Rock Alamo, into a land surface model, Integrated Science Assessment Model (ISAM), estimate spatial temporal variations yields over period 2001–2012 eastern USA. The validation observed data from sites across diverse conditions suggests that model is able simulate response grass central south applied identify four zones characterized by their average amplitude variance (or stability) USA: stable zone (HS), unstable (HU), low (LS), (LU). HS mainly distributed regions precipitation larger than 600 mm, mean temperature range 292–294 K during growing season, including southern Missouri, northwestern Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, western Kentucky, parts northern Virginia. LU Great Plains water stress higher variances precipitation, Oklahoma Kansas. Three may not LS zones, extreme poor soil texture, upper part north central, northeastern, New England cold
