摘要: A fibrous closure comprises a dimensionally stable, heat resistant backing layer and of high shear strength pressure sensitive adhesive. The is used in conjunction with shrinkable, wraparound sleeve for sealing cable jackets, connectors joints between lengths pipe or other elongate objects. wrapped around the object such that its ends overlap. then applied over overlapping to prevent slippage during shrinking, subsequent creeping overlap joint due hoop stresses shrunken sleeve. avoids use relatively inflexible polymeric layer, therefore able conform objects having small diameter irregular shape.
