摘要: Abstract The effects of senescence on geriatric disorders is well explored, but how it influences infections in the elderly poorly addressed. Here, we show that several anti-microbial responses are elevated senescent epithelial cells and old mice, which results decreased bacterial survival host after infection. We identify higher levels iNOS as a crucial response p38 MAPK acts negative regulator transcription. However, older ability to impede infection does not result enhanced survival, possibly because pro-inflammatory countered by robust protective anti-inflammatory response. Overall, while addressing an alternate advantage cells, our study demonstrates infection-associated morbidity may be sole outcome pathogen loads also influenced host’s resolve inflammation-induced damage.
