摘要: Thirty-seven local and introduced genotypes of hot pepper (Capsicum annuum) were characterized for 20 quantitative 28 qualitative morphological characters under screen-house conditions. There highly significant differences among for most (P 0.05). Exotic genotypes superior in traits compared to genotypes. Local by small fruits, late maturity, taller plants with wider canopies #31 #26 outstanding with respect numbers fruits per plant (mean 62) earliness (60 days), respectively. The first second principal components (PCs) accounted 41.6% 13.8% the total variability, Fruit length, fruit weight wall thickness largely contributed PC1. Days flowering, fruiting, maturity; stem diameter height; plant height width PC2. Moderate diversity based on (Mean index H` = 0.53) was detected Higher indices observed pubescence type (1.16), leaf and density (1.02), anther colour (0.94), calyx margin surface (1.06), immature intensity (1.03). Cluster analyses using showed at phenotypic level but some level genotypic relatedness closeness. Based Euclidean distance cluster analysis dendrograms, exotic grouped more traits. germplasm both qualitative revealed this study can be used trait improvement through selection gene introgression.
