Pharmacokinetic studies of prednisolone in children: Plasma levels, half-life values, and correlation with physiologic assays for growth and immunity

摘要: Plasma prednisolone levels have been measured hourly in children receiving a single dose of oral prednisone. Peak occurred one to two hours after ingestion; half-life studies gave mean value 132 minutes most children. Some had marked variability absorption and metabolism Somatomedin activity cell-mediated immunity were inhibited by plasma values which achieved doses prednisone 0.5 mg/kg or higher. Monitoring may be identifying those who accumulate excessively high on moderate dosage regimens.
