摘要: Combined sewer overflow (CSO) events produced in combined systems (CSS) during wet weather conditions are a threat for the receiving water bodies. The large number of CSO structures normally present CSS makes that monitoring complete network simultaneous way would drastically increase investment costs. In this paper, new methodology is presented aiming to characterize occurrence and duration by means low-cost temperature sensors. Hence, can be simultaneously monitored system characterized as whole. method assumes differences between overflowing mix wastewater stormwater gas phase, so shift rainfall episode related event occurrence. has been tested validated La Garriga (Spain) where at 13 weirs was period 1 year (57 episodes). For whole set events, were successfully determined 80% cases. Advantages, limitations potential applications discussed end paper.
