The duration of the instars Sitobion avenae (F.) was estimated from individually reared aphids on barley leaf-pieces, floated nutrient solution, at different temperatures but rest conditions remained constant. Also S. oats, and wheat seedlings in clip-on cages 22.5°C. Instar finally individuals groups leaf-pieces solution. An assessment made to find most appropriate precise method for estimation instar aphids. use a sine curve seems give accurate results is less time consuming as compared with others. The average temperature threshold four first found be 4°C both apterae alatae. - constant total 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th 133 142 Day°C alatae respectively. apterous relatively longer either second or third instar. Moreover, relative fourth alate 1.2 1.5 respectively, three instars.
