摘要: In this article we explore the practical use of medialness informed by perception studies as a representation and processing layer for describing class works visual art. Our focus is towards description 2D objects in art, such found drawings, paintings, calligraphy, graffiti writing, where approximate boundaries or lines delimit regions associated to recognizable their constitutive parts. We motivate exploration on one hand considering how ideas emerging from arts, cartoon animation general drawing practice point likely importance guiding interaction traditionally trained artist with artifact. On other hand, also consider recent results cognitive science which similar directions emphasizing medialness, an extension abstract mathematical known ‘medial axis’ ‘Voronoi graphs’, core feature used humans perceiving shapes static dynamic scenarios. We illustrate computations performed finished artworks well process being created, modified, evolved through iterations. Such may be guide artificial arm duplicating human creative performance study greater depth artworks. implementations represent prototyping applications computing art analysis creation remain exploratory. method provides possible framework compare iterations producing final preferred depiction, selected artist.
