摘要: Roadway networks, as part of transportation infrastructure, play an indispensable role in regional economies and community development. The high-quality pavement serviceability these networks is essential to ensure safe, cost-effective daily traffic operations. In-depth analyses network-wide surface condition data are necessary inputs for optimal design maintenance, safety enhancement, sustainable infrastructure system This study aims investigate various distress performance measurements their correlations better understand temporal–spatial characteristics roadway based on collected New Mexico from 2006 2009. Eight major corridors across urban rural areas were selected analyzing surface-distress conditions discovering intrinsic patterns both temporal spatial domains. results show that there not strong among different measurements, implying the rationality current measurement protocol used by state agencies. Regression models established GIS-based performed extract Distress Rate (DR) data. model illustrate significant DR same route between two consecutive years, which can be partially characterized a Markov process. investigations also unique features deterioration attributed diverse geometric conditions, such vehicle compositions volumes areas. research findings helpful more clearly optimize maintenance.
