摘要: HIV is a serious problem in the USA, particularly for men who have sex with (MSM). A new means of prevention, called pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), has been shown to be highly effective. However, spite earning FDA approval, adoption PrEP by MSM limited. The purpose this study was examine experiences sample 38 adopted PrEP, focusing on communication healthcare providers and social networks. In-depth interviews were used collect data. Findings revealed that stigmatization as well other relatively common experience participants. Additionally, participants described high level health literacy, advocacy, skill necessary adopt PrEP. Given these findings, strategies are suggested improving MSM's increasing rates adoption.
