摘要: 1. The action of dilute H2O2 on a series ovarian-cyst glycoproteins and glycopolypeptides was investigated. 2. Both native the were carbohydrate-rich, relatively low molecular weight simple structure. 3. At pH 5.6 37 degrees C, exposure to for limited time brought about partial degradation, being decreased by 2-4-fold. 4. Carbohydrate analysis showed very little change in oligosaccharide moiety, apart from small decrease sialic acid some samples. 5. Amino minor changes serine, threonine proline contents, but almost total loss histidine. Concomitantly, there gain aspartic acid. 6. Myosin, examined at both 5.7 6.7, exhibited generally similar behaviour, losses other amino residues as well histidine: viscosity value, range peptides widely varying size produced. 7. It is suggested that attack histidine residue, with conversion into acid, accompanied scission histidyl peptide bond.
