摘要: PURPOSE High dose-rate brachytherapy is a method of radiotherapy for cancer treatment in which the radiation source placed within body. In addition to give high enough dose tumor, it also important spare nearby healthy organs [organs at risk (OAR)]. Dose plans are commonly evaluated using so-called dosimetric indices; portion structure that receives sufficiently calculated, while OAR instead low interest. Models include indices referred as dose-volume models (DVMs) and have received much interest recently. Such do not take coldest (least irradiated) volume tumor into account, distinct weakness since research indicates effect can be largely impaired by underdosage even small volumes. Therefore, our aim extend DVM consider volume. METHODS An improved planning proposed. optimizing with respect indices, this model takes mean account. RESULTS Our extended has been against standard ten prostate geometries. results show could increased, computing times were improved. CONCLUSION While proposed yields similar other most aspects, fulfils its purpose increasing cold additional benefit shorter solution times, especially clinically relevant (of minutes) we major improvements tumour indices.
