摘要: For many years the classic model used for explaining genesis of atheromatosis was that involving cardiovascular risk factors, caused either by a harmful life style or hereditary alterations metabolism, principally dislipaemias. Recently we have learnt that, intimate molecular processes, as inflammatory cytokine and cellular cascades, explain great part vascular damage leading to ischaemic episodes observed in clinic. It can even be assessed, general, seric inflammation markers, hypothetical tools early diagnosis disease, are located on physiopathological path between factor (arterial hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia, obesity, diabetes) arterial lesion. This paper describes these mechanisms, both from viewpoint basic science its clinical role, it also analyses epidemiological value might study populations.
