摘要: Control of a powered wheelchair is often not intuitive, making training new users challenging and sometimes hazardous task. Collisions, due to lack experience can result in injury for the user other individuals. By conducting activities virtual reality (VR), we potentially improve driving skills whilst avoiding risks inherent real world. However, until recently VR technology has been expensive limited commercial feasibility general solution. We describe Wheelchair-Rift, cost effective prototype simulator that makes use Oculus Rift head mounted display Leap Motion hand tracking device. It assessed face validity by panel experts from local Posture Mobility Service. Initial results augur well our cost-effective
