摘要: Human perception and cognition processing are not universal. Culture experience markedly modulate visual information sampling in humans. Cross-cultural studies comparing between Western Caucasians (WCs) East Asians (EAs) have shown cultural differences behaviour neural activities regarding to cognition. Particularly, a number of suggest local perceptual bias for Westerners global Easterners (EAs): WCs perceive most efficiently the salient focal object; as contrast EAs biased toward background. Such has been observed wide range tasks stimuli. However, underlying mechanisms such tunings, especially temporal dynamic different coding, yet be clarified. Here, first two experiments I focus on function diverse eye movement strategies EAs. observers engage gather facial information: preferentially fixate eyes mouth, whereas allocate their gaze relatively more center face. By employing fixational paradigm Study 1 electroencephalographic (EEG) recording study 2, results confirm spatial-frequency tuning functions preferred pattern culture. The third makes use EEG adaptation hierarchical stimulus access global/local processing. diversity driven by selective attention is revealed early sensory stage. The here together showed diversity. Cultural distinctions time course EAs, late effects modulated detail WC observers.
