摘要: The cell surface glycosylation profiles of a liver metastatic colon carcinoma variant line, SL4 cells previously selected from 38 in vivo for colonization were investigated. Flowcytometric analysis was performed with 7 plant lectins and 10 carbohydrate specific monoclonal antibodies. results showed that peanut agglutinin (PNA), Sambucus nigra agglutinin, Ulex europeus agglutinin-I, anti-LeX, anti-LeY, anti-Leb antibodies bound to the parental but not cells. Another line vitro paucity PNA-binding sites using magnetic sorter designated as 38-N4 binding carbohydrate-specific very similar those After intrasplenic injections, ability higher than PNA detected after sialidase treatment these cells, indicating increased sialylation Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen mRNA levels sialyltransferases, ST3Gal I, II, ST6GalNAc compared. level II elevated both whereas compared According expression array analysis, there are other glycosyltransferase genes differentially expressed between yet their involvement altered is unclear.
