摘要: LONGITUDINAL PREDICTORS OF QUALITY LIFE IN ADOLESCENT SURVIVORS CHILDHOOD CANCER: A REPORT FROM THE CANCER SURVIVOR STUDY By Claire C. Russell, M.S. Dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for degree Doctor Philosophy at Virginia Commonwealth University. University, 2013 Major Director: Marilyn Stern Professor, Department Psychology Objective: The impact childhood cancer on future quality life (QoL) survivors is unclear. Current studies focus comparing outcomes to healthy peers and identifying related treatment demographic variables, but a shift our approach necessary. This study guided by Wilson Cleary Model (WMC) seeks identify longitudinal predictors QoL adolescent that explain variance beyond variables. Methods: Childhood Cancer Survivor Study (CCSS) multiinstitutional following cohort survivors. focuses CCSS (N = 305) who completed baseline survey 1994 Teen 2001. assessed parent-report child’s psychological physical symptoms, functional status, health perceptions. utilized Child Health Illness Profile – Adolescent Edition (CHIP-AE), self-report measure assessing six domains: achievement, resilience, satisfaction, discomfort, disorders, risk. primary hypothesis was status impairment, perceptions as rated parents would predict adolescents follow-up after adjusting treatment-related Six separate hierarchical regressions were analyzed each domains. Results: main supported.
