摘要: Abstract The pore radius of a reverse osmosis membrane was evaluated by considering the molecular shape uncharged organic solutes. Molecular approximated rectangular parallelepiped; length (L) and width (MWd) were used as parameters. steric partition factor solute calculated from L MWd, Stokes diffusivity estimated MWd. Twenty-four alcohols polyhydric probe solutes, both non-spherical spherical models: uniform pore-size model used. gave better correspondence between observed rejections for ES10 membrane, (0.506 nm) larger than that obtained (0.301 nm). effect applied pressure (0.2–1.0 MPa) on examined with model. results indicated slightly increased pressure, suggesting enlarged increasing pressure.
