摘要: Abstract A shipyard's layout contributes significantly to manufacturing performance. The practitioners based on experience can provide feasible alternative layouts by considering qualitative factors. However, no study in the shipyard context has leveraged their valuable subjective knowledge. This addresses above research gap. It proposes a two-stage approach using Fuzzy similarity index (FSI) and goal programming model (FGPM). first stage elicits relationship (REL) charts from practitioners. REL's fuzzy proximity ratings are assigned assessment of shipbuilding process flow, inter-shop material distance, cost per unit sharing handling equipment. Thereafter, FSI each with respect ideal is evaluated. implementing highest may not be due practical constraints. Therefore, second stage, FGPM formulated incorporating constraints related site factors, harmful gases emission, environmental, safety yield an optimal selection layout.
