摘要: Intentional and unintentional openings in a building's envelope provide opportunities for unwanted pests to enter buildings. The brown marmorated stink bug, Halyomorpha halys (Stal), is one such pest, causing significant domestic winter nuisance many locations. One important means of pest control exclusion, or blocking through which they can enter, although some are intentional cannot be completely blocked without putting building at risk. To help understand what size relevant entry, adult H. ready overwintering were driven out heated boxes designed limit passage by their lateral pronotal dorsoventral dimensions. Pronotally limited holes 8 mm wide passed only female (3.3% those tested), no females male (3.3%) 7-mm-wide holes. For dorsoventrally slits, few (13%) 4-mm-high individuals 3-mm-high slits. Dorsoventral heights widths 930 collected Virginia measured. Females consistently larger, with pronota averaging 8.33 the males' 7.47 point leg movement restriction 4.03 3.50 mm. Based on experimental data data, we conclude that most will excluded slits smaller than 3 7
