摘要: Two sediment cores from the inner continental shelf of SW India, SK‐148/13 (4.66 m long; 50 m water depth) and SK‐148/14 (5.37 m 22 m depth), were studied for provenance palaeomonsoonal implications. Sediment layers at different depth intervals in these estimated clay minerals organic matter content. Five surface samples nearby Kali River estuary adjacent hinterland also analysed mineral contents. In both sediments, smectite is dominant followed by illite, kaolinite or chlorite. Based on similarities abundances their relative wt‐% sediments as demonstrated significance tests, Al‐rich negligible contribution deep‐sea aeolian sources, it can be inferred that two derived hinterland.
