摘要: Bone Sialoprotein (BSP) is a member of the "Small Integrin-Binding Ligand N-linked Glycoproteins" (SIBLING) extracellular matrix protein family mineralized tissues. BSP has been less studied than other SIBLING proteins such as Osteopontin (OPN), which coexpressed with it in several skeletal cell types. Here we review contribution genetically engineered mice (BSP gene knockout and overexpression) to understanding role bone organ. The studies made so far highlight mineralization, well its importance for proper osteoblast osteoclast differentiation activity, most prominently primary/repair bone. absence also affects local environment tissue, particular hematopoiesis vascularization. Interestingly, lack induces an overexpression OPN, cognate could be responsible some aspects phenotype, while replacing functions. Such interplay between partly overlapping functions proteins, network cross-regulations they are involved should now focus further work.
