摘要: This review summarises present knowledge of the chemistry, immunology, genetics and clinical significance antibodies in Lewis secretor histo-blood group systems. Although red cell serology has laid foundations for these systems, more recent advances have been made by studying related glycoconjugates with monoclonal antibodies, determining structures mass spectrometry NMR spectroscopy, identifying enzymes their specificities, genes molecular biology. The expression system antigens is dependent on loci. Fucosyltransferases coded at loci compete interact each other transferases to determine an individual's phenotype. Exocrine epithelial cells, mostly endodermal origin, synthesise which, as plasma glycolipids, are secondarily acquired cells peripheral circulation. Phenotyping often regarded a simple way sometimes status individual; however, phenotype influenced many factors may not necessarily reflect someone's genotypes. Two main groups usually found, negative positive. In Lewis-negative individuals, genotype does affect phenotype, but Lewis-positive non-secretor generates Le(a+b-) causes Le(a-b+) partial gives rise Le(a+b+)
