摘要: We tested whether mate availability in the pleurocarpous dioicous mosses Rhytidiadelphus triquetrus and Abietinella abietina affects fertilization success by transplanting individual male shoots into non-sporophytic female colonies. Fertilization both species was limited of mates distance-dependent, number sporophytes produced higher R. than A. abietina. Our estimate a maximum distance 34 cm is an order magnitude larger previous estimates that have been based on non-manipulative approaches. In reproductive branches plot inclination (horizontal vs sloping) had significant effects produced. abietina, per did not affect sporophyte production. Within sloping experimental plots, significantly higher, from spermatozoid source below transplants above. conclude may be important for sessile dioecious organisms, spatial structure at various scales essential to understand their dynamics.
