摘要: Summary Objective Early studies on blood donors point to a seroprevalence of approximately 0.25% for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection in Iran. However, the true prevalence general population is unknown. The objective this study was determine HCV Methods We randomly selected 6583 subjects from three provinces Iran inclusion study. Subjects were aged between 18 and 65 years. Anti-hepatitis antibody tested by third-generation ELISA test. A recombinant immunoblot assay (RIBA) test used confirm results. Risk factors recorded multivariate analysis performed. Results total 5684 plasma samples tested. After confirmatory tests, we found 50 cases HCV. overall weighted anti-HCV 0.5%. rate significantly higher men (1.0%) than women (0.1%). In analysis, male sex, history intravenous drug abuse, imprisonment associated with anti-HCV. Conclusions be previous estimates. It appears that rising, future, will replace B as most common cause chronic viral liver disease
