摘要: “We aim to build on the legacy of Rio 2016 Paralympic Games and encourage more youngsters in continent try compete para-sport” (Andrew Parsons, Head Brazilian Committee 2016, IPC, p. 3). In recent years, cities hosting Olympic have used rhetoric for host community as a way demonstrate broader value such mega-event (Horne 2015; Grix 2013). While much literature has focused Games, there is an emergence research centred potential offered from Games. Unfortunately, become “catch-all” term that seems apply anything intended or unintended leftover event. This idea holds little communities seeking support social outcomes through event hosting. context however, relative infancy movement discussions about impacts offers unique place consider role influencing specific related effects. this chapter, I will offer perspective managing based International Committee’s (IPC) approach creating broad legacies people with disabilities, examine how area been explored scholarly literature, some direction evaluating considering planning movement.
