摘要: Virtually all current theories of choice under risk or uncertainty are cognitive and consequentialist. They assume that people assess the desirability likelihood possible outcomes alternatives integrate this information through some type expectation-based calculus to arrive at a decision. The authors propose an alternative theoretical perspective, risk-as-feelings hypothesis, highlights role affect experienced moment decision making. Drawing on research from clinical, physiological, other subfields psychology, they show emotional reactions risky situations often diverge assessments those risks. When such divergence occurs, drive behavior. hypothesis is shown explain wide range phenomena have resisted interpretation in cognitive-consequentialist terms.
