摘要: In humans, sex-determining region-Y (SRY) related high-mobility-group box 4 (SOX4) is linked to development and tumorigenesis. SOX4 over-expressed in several cancers has prognostic significance. This study evaluated whether affects oncogenic behavior chemoradiotherapy response head neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cells, documented the relationship between its expression prognosis oral (OSCC). We used small interfering RNA HNSCC cells evaluate effect of on proliferation, apoptosis, chemoradiation-induced invasion, migration. OSCC tissues was investigated by immunohistochemistry. knockdown (KO) decreased proliferation induced apoptosis activating caspases-3 −7, poly-ADP ribose polymerase suppressing X-linked inhibitor protein cells; it also enhanced radiation/cisplatin-induced apoptosis; suppressed tumor invasion Immunostaining showed significantly increased compared with adjacent normal mucosa. observed 51.8 % 85 tissues, correlated treatment failure (P = 0.032) shorter overall survival (P = 0.036) patients OSCC. may contribute phenotypes promoting causing chemoradioresistance. It could be a potential marker for
