摘要: The Notch pathway plays an important role in the normal development of neuroendocrine cells, including calcitonin producing C-cells thyroid. This effect has been elucidated to be mediated through modulation Achaete-Scute Complex Like 1 (ASCL1), a transcription factor associated with poor prognosis cancer. Medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) is one cancers derived from C-cells. shown inactive MTC which may lead altered expression ASCL1. Artificial induction signaling cells can suppress ASCL1 expression, cell growth as well hormone secreting potential. Pharmacological activation also successfully suppresses tumor animal model, sheds light on targeted therapy potential treatment for intractable MTC.
