摘要: There is a need for point-of-care serodiagnostic test women and men sexually transmitted infections (STIs) caused by Trichomonas vaginalis. Sera from with this STI sera that were analyzed in studies showing relationship between serostatus prostate cancer are highly seropositive response to trichomonad α-actinin its truncated protein (ACT-P2) (positive control sera). Epitope mapping experiments showed positive had antibodies 13 distinct epitopes, 5 of which detected men. unreactive (negative sera) failed detect any the epitopes or other amino acid sequences. The T. vaginalis sequence sequences little no identity those proteins microbial pathogens human 1 (HuACTN1) homolog. Immunoassays such as dot blot, immunoblot, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays used. Positive did not HuACTN1 immunoassays, range levels was 0% 50%. Comparison data banks, Tritrichomonas suis, Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae proteins, gave 22%. Specific 15-mer peptide low synthesized reactive only. These findings identify candidate targets suggest strongly reaction suggests exposure
