摘要: The performance of an experimental frequency compression hearing device was evaluated using tests speech understanding in quiet. compressed frequencies above a programmable cut-off, resulting those parts the input signal being shifted to lower frequencies. Below signals were amplified without shifting. Subjects experienced aid users with moderate-to-severe sensorineural loss and sloping audiograms. Their recognition monosyllabic words tested comparison conventional aids. Of 17 subjects, eight showed significant score improvement (p < 0.05), whereas one subject decrease. Some improvements may have resulted from better audibility provided high by However, subsequent study found that increasing high-frequency gain aids did not produce equivalent perceptual benefits.
