摘要: Today’s most pressing environmental problems, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, land cover conversion, etc. are caused by the overall growth of production and consumption. For a methodologically sound comprehensive measurement societal resource use its environmental, economic social impacts well for monitoring progress towards defined targets, appropriate indicators needed. In addition to territorial currently in use, take into account resources “embodied” traded goods services. These “footprint-type indicators” help understand what extent country’s economy, environment, efficiency performance services influenced global value chains. this book chapter we discuss state art data indicator development focussing on three different types natural – raw materials, land, water. First an overview methodological options regarding accounting frameworks calculation footprint-type is provided. We show empirical trends analyse drivers European Union have managed decouple their from use. Methodological requirements necessary next developments identified ongoing processes analyses linked question how targets sustainable can be both regards, institutional level.
