摘要: A method of making a structural iron-based article comprising: (a) blending compressible base iron powder (max. particle size 100 microns) graphite to provide carbon in mixture, and single master alloy (average 10 meltable within the range 900-1200°C (1690-2220°F) form being present an amount 1-5% by weight mixture consisting (i) hardenability enhancing alloying ingredients selected from Mn, Mo, Ni, Cr, Cu Fe, with Fe only if Cr or Mo is (ii) wetting agents group B, Y, Si rare earth misch metal, devoid proportioned desired powder; (b) compacting green density 7.1-7.4 g/cm3 part (c) machining configuration necessary; (d) sintering achieve liquification densify 7.3-7.5 without substantially varying green; (e) cooling sintered at controlled rate microstructure such as essentially bainite ferrite/pearlite microstructure.
