摘要: An improved helicopter landing gear assembly (12) to substantially increase useful service life. The crosstubes (14) are constructed of a material that allows use thicker thereby reducing the operating stress in and helping fatigue life, while at same time preserving required energy absorption characteristics. inside outside shot peened help formed an unstable temper condition is induced into part during formation, thus connected by fasteners (64) located sides straps (20) closer neutral bending axis crosstube so fastener holes (48) subjected lower levels. combination these improvements results increased life assembly.
