摘要: For regions where vitamin A deficiency is common, high dose supplementation of lactating mothers currently recommended, but the effects this intervention have not been carefully evaluated. We conducted a randomized, double-blind trial in which 153 Indonesian 1-3 wk postpartum received either capsule containing 312 mumol as retinyl palmitate or placebo. Mothers' serum retinol concentrations group tended to be lower than placebo at baseline higher 3 mo (1.39 vs. 1.24 mumol/L, P = 0.03) and 6 (1.23 1.08 < 0.01). The milk were those by 0.48 1.18 mumol/L 1-8 (P 0.05). Among infants age, prevalences low concentration (< 0.52 mumol/L) 36 15% groups, respectively 0.005), stores (assessed relative response) 23 10%, 0.03). High an efficacious way improve status both mother breast-fed infant.
