Electronic circuit breaker using digital circuitry having instantaneous trip capability

摘要: Instantaneous trip capability is provided to an electronic circuit breaker, which of the type that generates signals by accumulating squares power line current samples and thresholds accumulation results. Samples are taken directly from transformer analog-to-digital converter cascade generating them. The oversampling type, using a delta-sigma modulator. threshold detected against prescribed value without previous squaring, integration detection. detector result checked for two consecutive overcurrent indications before instantaneous signal generated.
