From 2005 to 2009, Centers Disease Control Prevention funded 5 sites participate Colorectal Cancer Screening Demonstration Program (CRCSDP), which was designed reach medically underserved populations. METHODS The authors conducted a longitudinal, multiple case study analyze program implementation processes. Qualitative methods included interviews with 100 stakeholders, 125 observations, review 19 documents. Data were analyzed within across cases. RESULTS Several themes related CRCSDP emerged from cross-case analysis: complexity screening, need teamwork collaboration, integration into existing systems, ability use wisdom at local level, influence social norms. these explored independently 1 another, interaction evident. CONCLUSIONS Colorectal clinically complex, its are not well accepted by general public; both circumstances implications implementation. Using patient navigation, engaging transdisciplinary teamwork, assimilating new clinical settings, deferring local-level together helped address enhance In addition, efforts must confront negative norms around screening. 2013;119(15 suppl):2870–83. © 2013 American Society.
