摘要: BACKGROUND Colorectal cancer, as the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among men and women in United States, represents an important area for public health intervention. Although colorectal cancer screening can prevent detect disease early when treatment is most effective, few organized programs have been implemented evaluated. From 2005 to 2009, Centers Disease Control Prevention funded 5 sites participate Colorectal Cancer Screening Demonstration Program (CRCSDP), which was designed reach medically underserved populations. METHODS The authors conducted a longitudinal, multiple case study analyze program implementation processes. Qualitative methods included interviews with 100 stakeholders, 125 observations, review 19 documents. Data were analyzed within across cases. RESULTS Several themes related CRCSDP emerged from cross-case analysis: complexity screening, need teamwork collaboration, integration into existing systems, ability use wisdom at local level, influence social norms. these explored independently 1 another, interaction evident.
