SUMMARY Two sisters are described who were suffering from an unusual and clinically distinct variant of mucopolysaccharidosis. One sister presented with a slowly progressing paraparesis which was found to be caused by compression the cervical spinal cord ligamentous thickening, in association stenosis bony canal. There rapid almost complete recovery after decompressive laminectomy. The importance this finding is discussed relation occurrence gait disorders mucopolysaccharidoses. It suggested that these two may represent genetic compound Hunter Scheie syndromes.
