摘要: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) affects approximately 600 million people around the world, 2.7 die every year, and globally it represents fourth cause of death, although a preventable one. The annual $ 1, 876 to 2, 000 US dollars cost money spent during an exacerbation can represent catastrophic expense for family society; this makes ambulatory treatment COPD outmost importance. In prospective, longitudinal, observational descriptive study, we analyzed cost, number exacerbations hospitalizations three groups out-patients: group I, 32 patients, inhaled salbutamol+ipratropium; II, 33 salbutamol+tiotropium; III, 15 oral teophylline. analysis showed that II was least costly with lowest hospitalizations.
