摘要: This study evaluated the clinical role of SPECTwith sestamibi versus CT in presurgical staging lung cancer. Methods: Forty-seven consecutive patients (44 men, 3 women; mean age 63.3 yr, range 49-82 yr) with and radiological suspicion cancer were enrolled this study. Staging procedures included radiography, CT, fiberoptic bronchoscopy SPECT thorax. Radionuclide imaging was performed after intravenous injection 740-925 MBq sestamibi. In 36 a histological diagnosis made, these for mediastinal lymph node involvement. Results: Mediastinal involvement demonstrated 11 evaluated. Sestamibi correctly staged 10 21 25 without nodes, showing diagnostic sensitivity 91% specificity 84%. Computed tomography gave 8 true-positive 15 true-negative results, 73% 60%. results also better than those regard to positive negative predictive values accuracy. Conclusion: The can be fully appreciated when technique is used selected patients, combined or MRI, both, assess avoid any invasive procedures.
