摘要: Abstract Introduction Anal squamous cell cancers are uncommon, and primary treatment is radical chemoradiotherapy. The role of surgery in salvage patients with residual recurrent disease. aim the study to determine how often such required, while secondary which features indicate may be required outcome surgery. Methods A prospective database was analysed all anal cancer over an 18 year period (Dec 1996–Jan 2015). records requiring were reviewed. Results 203 Patients identified cancers, 180 had carcinoma. 112 Female (median age 59.4, range 33–92) 68 male 63.8 36–87). Of these 27 (15%) 23 a R0 resection. extended resection (16 R0) 9 routine APR (7 R0). 30-day post-operative mortality rate 0%. overall 5 survival 78%, not significantly different from those (p = 0.23). Age, gender, AJCC stage, T radiation therapy alone, predicators need for Conclusions Salvage uncommonly required. Extended beyond obtain Excellent patient can achieved highly selected cases. There no identifiable clinical predictors needing surgery, consideration should given explore molecular genetic factors.
