摘要: The Human Development Index (HDI) is calculated using normalized indicators from three dimensions- health, education, and standard of living (or income). This paper evaluates aggregation methods computing HDI a set axioms. old measure taking linear average the dimensions satisfies monotonicity, anonymity, normalization MAN) current geometric mean approach additionally axioms uniformity, which penalizes unbalanced or skewed development across dimensions. We propose an alternative measure, where additive inverse distance ideal. in addition to above-mentioned axioms, also shortfall sensitivity (the emphasis on neglected dimension should be at least proportion shortfall) hiatus level (higher overall attainment must simultaneously lead reduction gap dimensions). An acronym these MANUSH, incidentally means human some South Asians languages alphabets can rearranged denote HUMANS. Using Minkowski function we give a-class measures, special cases turn out averaging method (a=1) our proposed displaced ideal (a=2) when ao2 then class measures satisfy MANUSH
