摘要: DNA methylation is an epigenetic mark that has key roles in the control of genome activity plants and mammals. It critical for stable silencing repeat elements also involved regulation some genes. Despite similarities controlling functions methylation, its dynamics deposition patterns differ several respects between One most striking differences tend to propagate pre-existing states across generations, whereas mammals re-establish them wide at every generation. Here, we review our current understanding flowering plant Arabidopsis. We discuss particular role RNAi incremental over successive generations. argue paramutation, phenomenon first described maize, extreme manifestation this RNAi-dependent pathway.
