摘要: Striate and extrastriate neurons present short-term synaptic depression facilitation in response to brief-transient stimulations. Recent psychophysical studies have shown some empirical relationships between these forms of neural plasticity behavior. It has been that depending on the adaptation duration it is possible induce two opposite perceptual outcomes: rapid visual motion priming (rVMP) (adapting for tens ms), aftereffect (rMAE) hundreds ms). In study we stimulated MT MST via presentation contracting expanding circular gratings order assess whether effects exist at higher levels processing. Results revealed strong rMAEs, sensitization (PS), which a long lasting but not rVMP. Our results are considered reflect competition coexistent short- long-term implemented different cortical circuitries.
