Cloaca prolapse and cystitis in green iguana (Iguana iguana) caused by a novel Cryptosporidium species.

摘要: Cryptosporidium infection was associated with colitis and cystitis in 2 green iguanas (Iguana iguana). The disease characterized by a chronic clinical course of cloacal prolapses cystitis. Histological examination the gut urinary bladder showed numerous developmental stages on surface epithelium mixed inflammatory response lamina propria. oocysts were visualised cytological preparation faeces. Based small subunit ribosomal RNA gene cryptosporidia as belonging to intestinal cryptosporidial lineage, but not saurophilum or serpentis species.
