摘要: Drug-eluting stents (DES) represent a major milestone in stent technology, saving the lives of millions worldwide afflicted with cardiovascular disease. Though wide range therapeutic approaches has been employed for treatment coronary artery diseases, deployment become most extensively practiced method to open blocked arteries comparison surgical revascularisation. In recent years, bare metal evolved into more effective drug-eluting systems and encouraging results from initial clinical trials have instilled hope among cardiologists reduce number fatalities caused by diseases through stents. Over passive framework that maintained blood flow vessels multi-functional devices could also serve mitigate conditions leading blockage while promoting re-endothelialization vessel. This review traces evolution first generation structures modern versions overcome their limitations. A glimpse exciting future technology is provided.
