摘要: Background and purpose Muscle atrophy is generally mild in patients with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) compared the severity duration of muscle weakness. Muscle was evaluated using computed tomography (CT) CIDP. Methods Thirty-one typical CIDP who satisfied diagnostic criteria for definite classification proposed by European Federation Neurological Societies Peripheral Nerve Society were assessed. The clinicopathological findings also those without atrophy. Results Computed evidence found marked suggestive fatty degeneration 11 31 CIDP. CT-assessed lower extremities, particularly ankle plantarflexor muscles. weakness, which reflects presence atrophy, tended to be more pronounced extremities than upper whereas limbs equally affected atrophy. conduction examinations revealed significantly greater reductions compound action potential amplitudes tibial nerves Sural nerve biopsy similar both groups. functional prognoses after immunomodulatory therapies poorer amongst atrophy. Conclusions Muscle present a subgroup CIDP, including form disease. These demonstrate predominant motor impairments prognoses.
