摘要: Some cementitious materials cured at elevated temperature may expand on subsequent exposure to moisture. Concern has been expressed as the relevance of small laboratory specimens field concretes, in particular due potential leaching ions into storage solution. The work presented here aims investigating this effect. Mortars identical fashion were subsequently stored 90-100% relative humidity (RH) and water, a LiOH solution, KOH solutions various concentrations. largest most rapid expansion occurred with mortars immersed water. samples RH expanded more slowly. Expansion was even slower when or solutions. same studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) X-ray diffraction (XRD). These techniques indicated that ettringite had formed over time all samples, little apparent relation degree expansion. composition C-S-H gel changed time, differently for different conditions. © 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd.
